The Men of Eastover need you!

Who We Are

The “Men of Eastover” group is designed to identify specific ways for the men of our community to become more involved in the school.  We know many dads, grandads, and other male volunteers want to get involved, but can’t identify the best way to engage.  This group participates in a variety of activities and events around the school including book drives, greeting the buses, Doughnuts with Dad, lunch with the students, mentoring, helping with special events, and much more.

We are part of the CMS-Wide Be There Dad® organization whose purpose is to drive male empowerment and stay involved in the lives of our children. The Be There Dad (BTD) concept relies on the “power of presence”. That idea says that when dads are involved in the lives of their children in a positive way, good things happen.

Mentorship

MOE is currently seeking male volunteers from our community for its new mentoring program. The program will support young men at Eastover and mentors will either be assigned an individual or a small group of mentees. They will meet two Fridays per month from 7:45-8:15 am for breakfast at school. The time commitment is minimal, but the potential impact to these students is immense. Thank you in advance for giving this some consideration! If interested, please CLICK HERE to sign up. Volunteers must be registered with CMS www.cmsvolunteers.com. Questions?
